As a Financial Planner in Chicago, Jodi Maslanka wrote in her business plan, “At the end of the day, I want to feel like I helped someone.” When her friend Theresa asked what happens to her son Robert if something happens to her, Jodi had no idea. Together they set up a Special Needs Trust and funded it with life insurance. At the end of the day, Theresa was so grateful and Jodi felt like she had helped someone. She became a Special Care Planner. Jodi now lives in Indianapolis. She no longer works as a Special Care Planner but continues to find ways to help families with disabilities.
